CIIC delegation visits Fuzhou and Xiamen

---Government leaders welcome CIIC to invest in local regions

A delegation led by Wang Tianyi, President of CIIC visited Fuzhou and Xiamen on December 9-13, 2006. Zheng Songyan, Mayor of Fuzhou and He Lifeng, Standing Member of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee held talks with President Wang respectively, welcoming CIIC on behalf of their respective governments to local regions to build disaster recovery base, scientific and technological park, hotels and residential buildings. They also expressed that governments encourage and organize local enterprises to invest in overseas scientific and technological parks developed by CIIC. Wang is accompanied in the visit by leaders including Liu Qun, Vice President of CIIC and General Manager of Beijing International Information Industry Park, Niu Zhiwei and Hui Yixiang, vice presidents of CIIC as well as Krieger and Liu Jianhua, president assistants.

On December 9-12, CIIC delegation came to Fuzhou, visiting Fuqing Jiangyin Industrial Zone, Changle Airport Industrial Zone, Mawei and Linyuzhou. They also make an investigation on the old city reconstruction of Fuzhou, real estate and hotel projects. Zheng Songyan, Mayor of Fuzhou, Liang Jianyong, Executive Vice Mayor, Qu Liming, Secretary-General and Hu Jimin, Deputy Secretary-General as well as main leaders from such authorities as Fuzhou Municipal Government Office, Fuzhou Development and Reform Commission, Fuzhou Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, Fuzhou Development Planning Commission, Fuzhou State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Fuqing Municipality, Changle Municipality as well as the Administrative Committee of Jinshan Industrial Zone held talks with CIIC delegation respectively. Both parties have negotiated projects like the overall development, investment promotion and management of Fuzhou Airport and seaport development zone; the building of Fuzhou disaster recovery base, duplication of state guest business center as well as CIIC's participation in hotel building, rebuilding and management in Fuzhou. The issue that local governments organize local enterprises to make direct investment and labor output in China Scientific and Technological Industrial Park developed by CIIC in Pakistan and Rumania is also a concern of both parties.

On December 12-13, CIIC delegation came to Xiamen visit Guanyinshan International Business Operation Center project, Xiamen Exhibition Center project and Phase III construction project of the software. Doctor He Lifeng, Standing Member of CPC Fujian Provicial Committee and Secretary of CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, Xu Mo, Standing Member and Secretary-General of CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and main leaders from relevant authorities including Xiamen Municipal Government Office, Xiamen Construction Administration, Xiamen Development and Reform Commission, Xiamen Tourism Bureau, Xiamen Foreign Investment Bureau, Xiamen Economic Development Bureau, CPC Siming District Committee and Administrative Committee of Xiamen Torch Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone held talks with President Wang. Such talks mainly focused on Xiamen Guanyinshan International Operation Center, Exhibition Center and Phase III of the software park, as well as the cooperation and development of such projects as the 100-square-meter-wide newly filled sea.

Leaders and relevant authorities of both cities attach great importance to the visit, extending their welcome and support to CIIC for their investment in local regions. Both parties show great confidence in the prospect of project cooperation. Staged achievements have been acquired and anticipated purpose has been attained during the visit.
