Launch ceremony for project of China Charities Aid

On May 30, 2011, in the morning, the ceremony for the launch of mobile medical treatment project themed by "protecting the young and providing assistance in getting medical care" and the "10,000 pharmacies and 10,000 medical kits" alliance project of the Children's Health Fund of China Charities Aid Foundation for Children (CCAFC) was held in the Presidential Beijing, as a gift for the children for the coming International Children's Day.

People attending the ceremony included: Gu Xiulian, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress, director of the China National Committee for the Well-Being of the Youth and the honorable chairman of CCAFC, Wan Shaofen, former administrative vice minister of the United Front Work Department, Wu Shaozu, former director of the General Administration of Sport of China and former executive vice secretary of the State Organs Work Committee of the CPC, Long Xinmin, deputy director of the Party History Research Centre of the CPC Central Committee, Shu Huiguo, former vice minister of Human Resources and Social Security, Ren Yuantao, former deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Leadership Group Office of the CPC Central Committee, Li Beihai, former vice minister of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Han Shucheng, former vice minister of Public Security, Wei Jiuming, president of CCAFC, Wang Tianyi, president of the Children's Health Fund of CCAFC, chairman and president of CIIC and chairman of Beijing Yongfeng International Information Co., Ltd, Pei Liang, secretary general of China Chain Store And Franchise Association, Wang Shujuan, executive vice secretary of the Party Committee of the Party History Research Centre of the CPC Central Committee, representatives from companies and tens of media.

The Children's Health Fund of CCAFC was established with a donation of five million yuan of CIIC, targeting at being a special fund for providing medical help for the Chinese children. Two projects were launched for this time. One is for celebrating the 90th birthday of the CPC. Under this project, medical service cars will set out from Ruijin of Jiangxi, via Zunyi of Guizhou, Gulan of Sichuan and Huining of Gansu, to Yan'an of Shaanxi, to visit and convey greetings to the children along the route of the Long March of the Red Army and provide free medical treatment for the children attacked by diseases and with special difficulties. By taking this chance, the medical service cars will approach the former revolutionary base areas, areas inhabited by ethnic groups, remote and border areas and poverty-stricken areas, where free physical examination, medical treatment and medical training will be provided for the children so as to raise the local governments' concern about the healthy growth of the children.

The second project is to arouse the social responsibility of the companies, promote the charity concept among all the people, drive the donation activities among the mass and establish "10,000 pharmacies and 10,000 medical kits" alliance with companies. Under this project, many big companies and chain stores will join in the "10,000 pharmacies and 10,000 medical kits" alliance and donation boxes will be set up in the stores of them to lead a trend that everyone would like to join in the programs for public good and to promote the normalization of donation for charity and salvation by all the people. Meanwhile, to manifest the sense of social responsibility of the companies, based on freewill, the companies joining in the alliance will donate part of their sales income for helping the children to get medical help.

Liu Qun, vice president of CIIC and general manager of Beijing Yongfeng International Information Co., Ltd, also attended the launch ceremony.
